Jon Wilson was there at that moment in the early 1970s, when fiberglass boats threatened to push wooden boats to the edge of extinction. He began WoodenBoat magazine, working out of his van in Maine, the magazine's telephone nailed to a tree. His work has been part of what fueled the resurgence of the wooden boat culture.
